Within the next couple of years, there will be some big changes to the landscape of the FASNY Firemen’s Home. Two structures that were on the campus had to be demolished due to deterioration. Recently, construction was started for a multi-purpose facility that will stand on the location where the old pavilion was.
This facility will be constructed to accommodate functions regardless of the weather and will last for many years. In addition to that project, the Capital Projects Committee is working with the design team for a portico over the main entrance of the Home and one over ambulance entrance to protect people from inclement weather. Outside the main dining room, there will also be a permanent building erected for the residents to eat and relax in.
Construction of the Multi-Purpose Building is made possible in large part by donations from supporters. Learn more about the Home giving program here.
